Dear Friend,

First, I'd like to say a big Thank You for your valuable time in joining this informative and timely discussion, you're much appreciated.

I send you warm heartfelt love and gratitude everyday.

Today I'd like to share some personal experiences with you in regards to memory...

Darn it, I forgot what I was gonna say?

Ummm.... oh yeah that's right!

Silly me, I wanted to give you a clue about memory loss and how to prevent it...lol.

Well, firstly being forgetful isn't such a big deal, actually short-term it's a way of coping with being over stimulated...by either focusing or ignoring visual information.

Like how many commercial advertisements are you being bombarded by every minute?

Infact, almost everyone has some short-term memory losses because of too much information and too many distractions...now that's a major problems we all face regardless of your age.

To be a little more specific, it's got more to do with your inability to filter out the daily irrelevant distractions that make you feel confused and burned-out than problems with focusing attention.

The real problem isn't forgeting about stuff, but more so not remembering what the 'thing' is used for...lol...sorry for being general I'll explain with a simple example.

For example:

Forgetting where you've placed your keys is pretty much irrelevant, bloody frustrating and inconvenient that's for sure, no arguments there.

The real cause of concern is when you can't remember what the heck those keys are used for?

Short-term memory loss is more a process whereby you're unable to suppress the distracting information...

...and generally speaking this happens more often because of aging.

Hey, that's not to say that's the rule of thumb, but of course...a contributing factor.

If you could see inside your head using a test called functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) you could actually see the activity hot spots of your brain working.

You can see, and pin-point brain activity and measure how your brain does certain tasks and how your brain is able to suppress brain activity in areas that process irrelevant information.

This may not seem like a big deal but it could be the key to understanding the many cognitive problems as a result of aging and being able to effectively treat these disorders.

Does that help?

If you haven't heard about cognitive disorders yet, not to worry (you'll know more about it in just a minute.)

Keep in mind if you ever needed proof that these long-term memory disorders are on the increase...take a good look around.

On the other hand, this is where it really gets fascinating and exciting, slide your chair a little closer and listen carefully because I've really good news for you.

Something smells fishy?

Do you smell something fishy, lol...you know what I mean?

What does fish oil have to do with your memory?

Funny you should ask because scientists have discovered the mechanism found in fish oil that works.

Because it's the omega-3 fatty acids which can help protect your brain against cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer's disease.

Nutritionists commonly classify dietary fat as either saturated, monounsaturated, or polyunsaturated.

The guidelines are based on the number of double bonds that exist in the fat's molecular structure.

Without getting too scientific here, for each of these three classes, there exists a large number of different chemical variations or "isomers".

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) ever heard of it?

DHA is the most important of the omega-3 fats and this fatty-acid reduces levels of a protein known to cause damage in the brains of Alzheimer's patients.

They also discovered a derivative of the fatty acid called neuroprotectin D1 (NPD1) is formed in the human brain, and is essential in protecting against brain cell death.

Further tests showed that some people are able to avoid memory loss as they age and omega-3 acids maybe the reasons why.

It's important to understand that short-term memory problems and Alzheimer's disease are not the inevitable effects of aging.

A simple daily intake of omega-3 fats and other high-value nutritional content that are known to guard against and reduce your chances of getting Alzhemizers and other neurological diseases...

Does that sound like something you'd be interesting in doing?

Here are a few definitely worth considering:

  • Consume a high-quality fish or cod liver oil daily
  • Eat a nutritious diet, while increasing your intake of fresh vegetables high in folate
  • Get into an exercise program today, the health benefits are too numerous to ignore
  • The most important aspect is to keep your mind active, keep challenging your mind
  • Remove mercury from your body (daily intake of natural food source such as Chlorella)
  • Include wild blueberries, which have high anthocyanin and antioxidant

It's clear that fish-oil derived from animal-based omega-3 fats, not plant-based ones like flaxseeds, provide most of the major benefits.

One of the best known sources of fish-oil that I've found to be of major benefit is the fresh water variety of salmon, and cod liver oil...you really do want to consider include them, too.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what happens to you.

Like real results goes way up in your favor as the size of the risk goes down.

What do you you think?

Are omega-s fatty acids the next big thing?

Or just another short-term memory loss?
