Acid reflux or what?

Acid Reflux
Acid reflux or what?
So many people are looking for ways to become and stay healthy, I know you're heading in the right direction otherwise you wouldn't be reading this blog.
Hi Lifestyler,
How are you doing, thanks for reading today's article hot off the press.
If you get into the habit of listening to your own body, that means thinking differently, right!
Hmmm...
Guess what?
Here’s the really exciting part...the end results are usually positive.
Today I'd like to clear up a confusing point for many about acid in relation to food...

If acids are bad how can things like lemons or limes be good?

Firstly, this stuff actually works so lets get the facts because there are different kinds of acids...
Bear this in mind, there's no such thing as bad acids.
In fact, you want acids in your body.
Yeah, but the whole debate hinges on the proportion of acids in relation to alkaline.
The simple formula is if the ratio between the two is unbalanced then your body is out of wack.

There are four kinds of foods:
  1. Acid Foods
  2. Alkaline Foods
  3. Acid Forming Foods
  4. Alkaline Forming Foods

Inshort, this all has to do with the way food reacts in your stomach because the moment to put food in your mouth, from here on out it's a chemical process that happens.

Let's take Lemon juice as an example:
  • Lemons are considerd acidic, right?
  • And yes, because of it's citric acid and potassium, when eaten it creates carbonic acid.
  • When carbonic acid and citric acid enter the stomach it causes the release of secretin.
  • Secretin then signals the pancreas to release sodium bicarbonate, and many other alkalines into the small intestine.
  • Some of the bicarbonate is released into the body's circulation through the lymph.
  • But it is the potassium citrate in the small intestines that is the strongest alkaline buffers.
In fact, sometimes I wonder what all the fuss is about.
Doctors have been prescribing potassium citrate without problems for years to raise pH in urine to prevent acid forming stones.
It would seem obvious that your PH balance just might be worth keeping an eye on...would you agree?
