Is eating raw food healthier and nutritionally is it really better for you?
OK. Stop whatever you're doing and read the opening phrase again...nutrition vitamin.
Hello Lifestyler,
How are you doing, thanks for your time.
Hey, I'm glad you've decided to read today's article.
Yep, short and sweet, but timely and valuable never the less...
There's always hot debate and controversy that surrounds any kind of diet.
I tend to feel there's always two sides of the coin, even if the odds are against you many will say there's little, if any, scientific evidence that a raw-food diet is more healthful.
Well, of course marrying these two concepts for a lot of people is a lot easier said than done.
Healthy food = excellent results...
Now from my own personal experience, I can absolutely tell you don't believe everything you hear or read.
For some: Healthy foods means less than healthy profits.
I know of many people that have followed a simple raw diet and at the end of the day, you could do a lot worse than not eating raw food.
Let's face the facts, its true that the concept of cooking foods goes way back.
It's difficult to go against this tidal wave, and I must say I was a little daunted.
Of course, it should be your own personal decision, because each individual circumstances and expectations will vary.
If you consider that cooking may deactivate certain enzymes, that doesn't always cause a digestive problem or have a significant effect on the food's nutritional value.
Why?
The reason is really quite simple and it has more to do with evolution.
The human digestive tract makes its own enzymes, which break down proteins, lipids (fats, waxes and related substances) and carbohydrates.
On the other side of the coin you have to use heat.
Certain forms of cooking destroy vitamins.
For Example:
Boiling vegetables in lots of water and overcooking.
Health wise, its much better to avoid cooking vegetables for more than two to three minutes.
Usually in a small amount of water, steaming is by far the best method.
Stir-frying is a good method if you use water and reduce the amount of time.
The faster they're cooked, the more vitamins they retain...
Also, when you start to eat food as close to raw as possible, one thing I've learnt over the last 20 years is that, to be successful in a RAW DIET you must have a passion.
Like all things it is about trying to achieve balance.
There's strong evidence that nutritional value of many foods, such as beans and carrots, are a lot easier to digest raw...
By making their nutrients more accessible to the body...
In my book that kind says improved nutrition and energy, would you agree?
Re-ignite your passion for life and go raw, and experience the happy vice versa of nature.
Live healthy, long and prosperous...my friend, talk to you soon!
